Plenty of storylines from world of sports

Not to add to the existing pressure and speculation, but

Florida Today
Peter Kerasotis May 27th, 2007

"...did anybody else notice that Donovan's statement Thursday was both well-worded and weak? Said Billy, "My focus is on coaching at the University of Florida." Oooh. That should silence speculation.

Just like when the Kentucky job was open, Billy still can't utter the four words that would stop runaway rumors: I am not interested. It's really not that hard. But he can't do it..

Even if Donovan does sign his contract extension with UF (and I think the signing of the Treaty of Versailles happened quicker), he's created a lot of doubt for future recruits. Really, does anyone believe he won't one day go to the NBA?. . ."

How 'bout those "lifetime" contracts like Coach K has...can we lock up Donovan till he turns 65?!?

Oooh, Billy and the NBA. It's the best romance story of the decade. I hope it ends in heartache.

W.W.S.D. What Would Spurrier Do?

He'd leave us.

Billy, are you a "Spurrier"?

Thank you for your years Billy. If you have to go, just don't you try to return.

But I would pray you stay.

Would it be financially possible to pay Donovan $5MM a year like the NBA could? I mean, what's the difference btw $3.5MM and $5MM? Keeping Donovan, maybe

What's the advantage of the Magic having Donovan. Oh wait, they can get an arena by using him. Go ahead Donovan, be used in Orlando or be loved in Gainesville. The choice is yours...

Perfect, Donovan is perfect.

Donovan, are you bored? Is that why you are flirting with the enemy?

This is what you get for keeping Billy Donovan Florida. Ryan Ferguson is the biggest homer I've ever read in my life and he has been completely wrong since the day Tubby Smith left...I love it.

EAT THAT CROW BEEOTCH.

thanks for deserting the Gator fans Billy. I won't be following you anymore. Guess the $2M more a year means more to you. Hope you have the same experience Spurrier did and return to college fans (but not Gainesville). I'm still a die-hard Gator fan and will continue to support whomever replaces you. Hope your're unhappy in your new job. Thanks for nothing!
